The idea to behind the creation of Indy Live Music evolved during a discussion on a car ride. It came from a place of wanting to do more with our passion for live music. We both enjoy reading concert reviews that others post about shows we were at, and those we weren't able to attend - as well as interviews with artists, reviews of albums before we go out and buy them, and checking out concert photos.
So early in 2010, the Indy Live Music blog was born. It began life as a little site on blogger.com - nothing more than some text, a few pictures, some widgets, and a Google Adwords account that brought no income. Today it has morphed into...well, little more than that actually, but it does now have it's own, big-time web address.
What is the mission of Indy Live Music? It's simple really - provide readers with a decent review and photos of live concerts. We typically do this from the regular, everyday fan point of view - no backstage passes or hanging out on tour-busses. We're sitting in the same seats you are, experiencing similar things at each show, just taking it all in. Then, we write about it. Simple.
When we have the opportunity, we'll bring you new album reviews and artist interviews. We try to be as genre-agnostic as we can in attending shows. And we're always up for suggestions of shows to review, especially if you know of or are a local artist. Feel free to concact us and let us know dates/times of the show and we might just show up! You might see us at the shows listed in our "Upcoming Shows" section wearing our homemade t-shirts. If you do, come say "hi" - we'd love to chat.
