Truth & Salvage Co. came to Indy as a part of the WTTS and Creation Cafe Emerging Artist Concert Series of small concerts sponsored by Upland Brewery. The final installment of the series proved to be one of the most entertaining and energetic shows we have ever seen.
First, what you need to know about this band:
The band opened with “The Gang’s All Here,” a perfect opening song that got the crowd energized. One of the things I also have to mention about this band is that all the guys are top-notch musicians. We saw all sorts of different instruments make appearances! We were treated to a few songs being sung by the drummer of the band, Mr. Bill “Smitty” Smith, who also played a song he wrote with his father. It was during this song (sorry, I can’t find the name of the song) that we saw Smith’s father singing along to from the bar…and even though the song was about fishing, frogs, crawdads, we found that this was an incredibly cool moment for a father and son to share with the crowd. It was very cool.
What I really loved about this band is that they were having a blast playing their music for us and we had a blast listening to it.
Some of the other songs the band performed were “Call Back,” “Heart Like A Wheel,” and “Welcome To L.A.”
These guys have a lot going for them…they have a lot of support from their friends, families, and other artists. Their musicianship is top-notch, with some great harmonizing abilities. But most of all, it is evident that they love what they do and they express it in their performances. We love every chance we get to hear them on WTTS and we are excited to have been a part of a very exciting night along their musical journey.
